Helical compressors, as well as reciprocating compressors belong to the group of refrigerating compressors of pressurized action. However, the process of coolant compression has significant distinctions. The process of compression is dynamic in helical compressors due to the oil injection. This also explains the dependence of helical compressor productivity from rotor speed, as well as the limitation of volumetric capacity for costs reasons.

That is why it is possible to reduce from the installation of a separate oil pump when using these helical compressors in standard cold supply schemes.

All new-generation refrigerating helical compressors are equipped by single- and multi-step productiveness regulators. These regulators are forcers, hydraulically managed with the aim of solenoid valves. These regulators also serve for automatic start unloading. Besides they work as additional security from excessive supply pressure and hydraulic rams. In such emergency conditions the capacity regulator is opened due to inner pressure compensating the peak load this way.

An important advantage of refrigerator helical compressors is extremely low level of vibration and almost the total absence of gas pulsation on the compressor output. This characteristic of helical compressors significantly decreases the risk of pipes destruction during the operation, the loss of coolant in the system and expenses for repair and technical maintenance.
