The technology of poultry processing utilizes a few kinds of cold supply systems, including water cooling units for precooling refrigeration irrigation system, central cold supply stations for tunnels and chilling units for storing ready-made products and freezing. As a rule, custom industrial air coolers are also used.
Tougher and tougher requirements are imposed to the product quality, and high quality is possible only in following the technical process and applying modern processing equipment. Efficient cooling and freezing methods are paid special attention.

Today one of the most efficient methods is mist cooling of carcasses that helps to reduce capital and operating costs compared to other scheme solutions. When using this method, a broiler carcass is cooled in 1-2 hours (depending on the refrigerating equipment power). The risk of product freezing is zero.
Besides traditional energy-saving technologies related to lowering the heat loss via building envelopes, the company implements new specialized engineering and technical solutions that provide significant reduce of energy consumption. They include partial or total air recirculation, free cooling, recuperation systems, including heat recuperating in plate-type heat-exchange units, applying heat pumps, absorption machines, cold accumulators.

Poultry farm refrigerating equipment provides the following technological modes:
-Preliminary cooling of carcasses in ice water;
-Additional carcass refrigeration in high-intensity cooling tunnel;
-Supporting technological sanitary mode conditions for working in package zone;
-Stocking up the packed products and its storage;
-Intermediate storage of products, preparation for dispatch in shipping room.
After preliminary cooling in spiral cooler the carcasses are processed in the high-intensity cooling air tunnel. Carcasses there are cooled up to +4°C…+6°C. The tunnel is equipped by air coolers providing about 5 mps air velocity along the carcass surface. The temperature in the tunnel doesn’t go lower than -1°C.
Intermediate storage and after-cooling of the packed products is performed in buffer storage room. The temperature mode there is 0°C…+2°C. Temperatures at the discharge zone, where the batching and short-term product storage takes place is +12°C…+16°C.
